Mr And Miss Benoni
Mr And Miss Benoni: The competition has been a success for more than 25 years and every year has a theme. This year’s theme is “generation flashback”. “Height is not of importance when we choose the contestants,” Entry forms can be collected from Rampage Modelling Agency, at the Northmead Square Office Park, 14th Avenue, or, for more information, visit their Facebook page: Rampage Modelling Agency. The competition will be divided into two segments, the semi-finals and the finals. During the semi-finals, which take place on September 3, entrants will be interviewed and 40 (20 male and 20 female) will be shortlisted for the finals, which will take place at the Kopanong Hotel and Conference Centre, on October 15. An itinerary of educating the contestants about various charities, along with giving them an opportunity to raise funds to support these charities, will take place.
The competition is supported by 20 sponsors, but Moore said anyone else who would like to sponsor the event is welcome to contact the Rampage offices on 011 425 1728. According to Moore, the competition has helped to launch many careers, namely Chanley Wong, who is currently a television presenter on eTV, and Nomuzi Mabena, who recently released her new single, Recipe. Apart from this competition giving contestants exposure, there are also many prizes up for grabs, including a helicopter flip, scuba diving course, modelling contract, photographic portfolio, gym membership and weekends away, among several other gifts. A fee of R250 is payable upon entering.
