Ekurhuleni Municipal Contractors Downfall

Ekurhuleni Municipal Contractors Downfall: We all now and again come home to either find when you open the tap that there is no water or no electricity when you turn on the lights. This story is mainly about water issues as an attempt to repair a possible water leak in Pear Street, Van Dyk Park, the contractors that were given the job might have broken the pipe and just left the site with water gushing from the pipe that is according to a complainant. The complainant spotted the contractors on site, on May 6, and noticed the burst pipe – with no contractor in sight – the same day, around 3.30 in the afternoon. However, contractors were back on site the following day, May 7, to repair the pipe that had burst .

“Thousands of litres of water have been wasted, as they (the contractors) switched off the water only the following day, at around 10am,” the complainant said. Nearby streets had to go with out water for the night due to the work that was half done. The Ekurhuleni municipality have not issued any comment as yet on the matter.
