Crime In The East Rand: The domestic worker reportedly said she noticed a silver Toyota Corolla in the driveway at about 10.30am on Monday, November 14. The occupants of the car then jumped over the fence to gain entry to the the yard. They accosted the domestic worker, before they took her to one of the bedrooms where they tied her up. The robbers then helped themselves to the house owner’s valuable electrical appliances, including a TV set, microwave and a PlayStation. They then fled the scene with stolen goods worth an estimated R30 000. In another robbery, crooks forced their way into a property on Albrecht Road, Sunward Park, and robbed an elderly citizen of her cellphone and cash, on November 11.
In other news Boksburg police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man wanted in connection with an armed robbery at the Shell petrol station on Trichardts Road, Parkdene, on November 9. The suspect, described as a white man, entered the convenience shop and asked for a R10 airtime voucher at about 8.30pm. All of a sudden, the man took out a firearm, pointed it at the cashier and forced her to open the till. He was seen driving off in a blue Kia Picanto. No shots were fired and no one was injured. Anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the suspect is asked to contact the Boksburg police on 011 841 6800/6845/6844.
