Bulls Beat Cheetahs

Bulls Beat Cheetahs: The Vodacom Bulls put in a patchy performance but it was enough to see them to a close 23-18 win over the Toyota Cheetahs in their Vodacom Super Rugby game at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday night. Coupled with an off-night for both teams’ kickers, the game eventually became scrappy and disjointed with both sides trying their utmost, but not getting much in return. The Bulls will be unhappy with their return for their early dominance as once again they failed to get their rolling maul going to any good effect, were predictable with their one-off runners and played into the Cheetahs’ hands. The Bulls had the best exchanges of the first half, with Niel Marais and Tian Schoeman swopping early penalties before the Bulls managed some ascendancy thanks to a yellow card for Paul Schoeman for slowing down the ball.

Vodacom Bulls – Tries: RG Snyman, Jason Jenkins, Jamba Ulengo. Conversions: Tian Schoeman. Penalties: Schoeman (2)

Toyota Cheetahs – tries: Sergeal Petersen, Torsten van Jaarsveld. Conversions: Niel Marais (1). Penalties: Niel Marais (2)
