10 ml oil
1 onion grated
30 ml steak and chops spice
500 g beef mince lean
15 ml mixed dry herbs
250 ml fresh breadcrumbs
1 egg
1 can baked beans

For the Topping:
700 g potatoes peeled and cut into quarters
Sea salt and a bit of paprika
30 g margarine
100 g mature cheddar cheese grated
5 ml mustard
5 ml baking powder
60 ml cream or milk

Beef and bean cottage pie: Combine all the ingredients for the mince and cook for about 15 to 20 minutes.
Place into a greased oven dish.

For the Topping:
Boil the potatoes. As soon as they are cooked, drain and mash them in the pot while still steaming hot.

Add the seasoning, margarine, three quarters of the cheese, the mustard, baking powder and enough cream
or milk to give a creamy texture.

Top your mince ingredients with the potato and sprinkle with remaining cheese.
Bake at 180°C for 20 minutes or until cooked through and golden. Sprinkle with extra paprika just before serving.
