Armed Robbery And Other Crime Stories: On the corner of Bunyan and Newlands a civilian driving past the corner of Bunyan and Newlands had the shock of his life when bullets hit his car. An armed robbery was in progress at the business there and three suspects were robbing the business of cash. The suspects entered the business on foot and when they saw the car going past they shot at it. Cartridges were found at the scene when CMS and SAPS stood off. In a different story a suspects attempted fraud at the shop and were caught and found to be the same ones that were involved in a fraud case in Witfield at a bottle store. One suspect was arrested. CMS and SAPS were on the scene. Then there was an attempted break in on Tenth Avenue in Northmead on the 7th. Suspects jumped the fence to get into the premises but it seems that they were unable to access the building. A hole was cut in the roof and the ceiling in an attempt to enter the home. CMS and SAPS were on the scene to investigate further.
There was a break in at a school on First Road in Bredell on the 7th. Suspects entered the premises and then broke a hole in the wall to enter the building. Once inside they made an attempt to steal, though it is unknown if they managed to get anything as a large amount of goods were recovered in the field behind the school. Keys were also found by the safe but it seems that the suspects did not manage to open the safe. Then on Miles Sharp Street Rynfield a home was broken into. Suspects forced open the pedestrian gate and then the doors to the home, the entertainment area and the garage where they took motor spares and other items before fleeing and leaving the mess behind.
