Fourteen people were injured when a taxi and a car collided at the intersection of Modderfontein and Centenary roads in Greenstone. Emer-G-Med arrived to find that fourteen patients had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Some were seated on the pavement and others walked around the scene.
In crime news two suspects, aged 21 and 24, were arrested in Edleen on Monday at around 3pm by security officers from Alpha Security and MML Security. They were found in possession of stolen property including jewellery, key holder, nail kit and memory stick, all valued at an estimated R50 000, said Norkem Park SAPS spokesman, Capt Lesibana Molokomme. The two were cought after breaking into a house on Oleander Street. Alpha Security general manager, Morné le Grange, said at 2:11pm a resident of Oleander Street posted on a WhatsApp group that they had heard a loud bang from a neighbour’s house and they knew that no-one was home. “Alpha Security sent officer Boyama to investigate. Upon arrival he saw three suspects jumping over the rear wall. He gave chase and managed to arrest one.
