46 Injured In Pretoria Bus Incident
46 Injured In Pretoria Bus Incident: Forty-six people have been injured on Es’kia Mphahlele Drive near the R80 in Hermanstad in Pretoria this morning in a bus crash. It is believed that the bus crashed into a truck then from the accident landed on its side. Netcare 911’s Athlenda Mathe says, “We can confirm that all the people were treated on scene and transported to various hospitals in the area for further medical care.” Traffic was severely affected and the accident was being investigated by police. “There were five seriously injured and 35 slightly injured, most of them might be released today from various hospitals. The scene is under investigation by the South African Police Service and Metro Police. The bus capsized on its side and obviously that will take some time, so people must avoid Es’kia Mphahlele and the R80.”
Best Care Ambulance services spokesman Xander Loubsher said “On arrival we found people scattered and began treating the injured. The driver of the truck was entrapped and the jaws of life were used to extract him.” It’s understood the accident happened just before 6am this morning. No further information is available at this stage.
